ENERGY STAR V3.0/3.1 TRAINING

We understand that taking time off work to attend additional training is not an option for most Raters. That is why we are offering Raters the ability to attend the ENERGY STAR v3/3.1 Rater online training. Created by industry professionals with over 60 years combined experience this training allows you to train at your own pace from the comfort of your own home.

HERS RATER TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION

The RESNET HERS Rater certification is the premier designation for residential energy professionals. RESNET HERS Raters are trained to assess every aspect of a residential structure for its relevant energy efficiency, such as insulated building assemblies and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Additionally, HERS Raters are trained to test the building shell for air infiltration and duct systems for leakage using specialty diagnostic testing equipment like blower doors and duct blasters. requirements for certification.

PROVISIONAL RATER MENTORSHIP AND CERTIFICATION

HERS Rater Candidates who have completed Rater Training must select a Provider through which they will complete 5 Provisional ratings under the supervision and mentorship of a qualified RESNET Candidate Field Assessor. BER has several approved assessors on staff to assist candidates through this process. The benefit of working with BER for your Provisional Rater Training Certification Mentorship is that we are dedicated to giving our Provisional Raters the best education possible, so that they will be ready to work with clients upon completing their certification.

HERS RATER FIELD INSPECTOR TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION

HERS Rating Field Inspectors are certified to perform the in-field testing required for a Certified HERS Rater to complete ratings. A RFI will work under the supervision and guidance of a certified HERS rater throughout their career. BER’s RFI course is available to all BER rating companies.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Certified HERS Rater are certified for a period of 3 years at a time. Within this 3-year period, Raters must meet the professional development requirements for recertification.

ENERGY STAR MULTIFAMILY NEW CONSTRUCTION TRAINING

BER is proud to announce the release of our ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction Training! The new course covers all requirements of the ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction program including an overview of the ESMFNC Program Requirements, Rater Design Review and Rater Field Checklists, and Multifamily Workbook. Participants will take a final exam to qualify for certification.
