RESNET HERS Training
RESNET HERS Rater certification is the premier designation for residential energy professionals. BER also provides training for the HERS Modelers and HERS Rating Field Inspectors. All of our RESNET Training is offered online and includes all of the resources needed to successfully apply for RESNET certification.
HERS RATER TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
The RESNET HERS Rater certification is the premier designation for residential energy professionals. RESNET HERS Raters are trained to assess every aspect of a residential structure for its relevant energy efficiency, such as insulated building assemblies and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. BER's Online HERS Rater Training combined with BER's Rater Mentorship Certification program meet all RESNET requirements for HERS Rater certification.
HERS MODELER TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
This course enables candidates to become RESNET Certified HERS Modelers who are qualified to create and edit energy models for HERS rating purposes, under the supervision of a Certified HERS Rater. Upon completion of HERS Modeler training, the RESNET Practical Evaluation and two probationary rating models, candidates will become Certified HERS Modelers.
HERS RATING FIELD INSPECTOR TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
HERS Rating Field Inspectors are certified to perform the field inspections and testing required for a certified HERS Rater to complete HERS ratings. A Rating Field Inspector (RFI) will work under the supervision and guidance of a certified HERS rater throughout their career. BER’s Rating Field Inspector online training course is designed to prepare RFI candidates to pass all RESNET examination and graded field examination requirements for RFI certification. This RFI training and certification program is available to all HERS rating companies throughout the USA.
PROVISIONAL HERS RATER MENTORSHIP
HERS Rater Candidates who have completed HERS Rater Training must select an accredited HERS Rating Quality Assurance Provider through which they will complete 5 Provisional HERS ratings under the supervision and mentorship of a qualified RESNET Candidate Field Assessor. BER has several certified assessors on staff to assist candidates through this process. The benefit of working with BER for your Provisional Rater Mentorship is that we are dedicated to giving our Provisional HERS Raters the best education possible, so that they will be ready to work with clients upon completing their HERS Rater certification.

Created by industry professionals with over 60 years combined experience this training allows Raters to attend the ENERGY STAR v3/3.1 Rater Training allows you to train at your own pace from the comfort of your own home.
ENERGY STAR v3/3.1 Training is a prerequisite for ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction Training.
ENERGY STAR MULTIFAMILY NEW CONSTRUCTION TRAINING
This certification course covers all elements and requirements of the ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction program including an overview of the ESMFNC Program Requirements, Rater Design Review and Rater Field Checklists, and Multifamily Workbook.
Students seeking certification must have completed the ENERGY STAR New Homes certification course in order to earn this credential.

CODE TRAINING

States are updating their energy codes on a consistent basis, and BER is prepared to help you and your organization keep up to date with them as they are released. With the State Energy Code Training Series, you'll take a deep dive into the state energy code updates, unique aspects, and how to demonstrate compliance. We are constantly hard at work developing trainings for each state as they adopt and amend their version of their state code.
IECC/HERS COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST TRAINING
This course prepares Raters, construction experts, and energy professionals for the ICC Residential Energy Inspector/Plans Examiner exam. HERS Raters can also earn the IECC/HERS Compliance Specialist Designation after completing this course and the optional exam. RESNET PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOURS
Certified HERS Raters, Rating Field Inspectors and Energy Modelers are certified for a period of 3 years at a time. Within this 3-year period, Raters, RFIs and Modelers must meet RESNET's professional development requirements for recertification. BER offers several RESNET PDH options for full recertification for all RESNET certified professionals.
