LOUISIANA ENERGY CODE

Current State Energy Code: 2021 LSUCC
Model Code: 2021 IECC
Previous State Energy Code: 2009 LSUCC
Previous Model Code: 2009 IRC

The 2021 Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code (LSUCC) is based on the 2021 IECC. This edition of the LSUCC went into effect in July 2023. The previous version of Louisiana's energy code was based on the 2009 IECC.

Louisiana's energy code is a combination of the IECC's provisions plus some specific state amendments. The inclusion of these amendments makes the code less stringent than its model code, but it is still a significant bolstering of the standards from the 2009 IRC.
